Undergraduate Application Checklist

Undergraduate applicants must submit a Common Application, fee and supporting materials. The checklist for all undergraduate programs is below.

Transcripts

Official sealed or electronic records from high school, and each college and university previously attended if transferring.

  • All music applicants must present credentials that are the equivalent of the bachelor of music degree at Temple University, which is based on a curriculum of 125 to 136 hours.
  • International applicants, please see Temple University's regulations regarding Official Educational Documents.
Standardized Test Scores

Submit standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) or the Temple Option.

Letter of Recommendation

Submit one letter of recommendation. If the recommendation is music-specific, it can be sent to

Résumé/CV

Submit your résumé/CV via Acceptd if submitting a recorded audition or portfolio. Students auditioning live will be sent a link to an audition addendum prior to their audition in place of the résumé/CV. 

Statement of Purpose

Submit your Statement of Purpose via Acceptd. Required via Acceptd only if submitting a video audition, a portfolio for BS Music Technology,  or a portfolio for BM Music Composition. Students applying to BS Music can send their statement of purpose to

Additional Requirements for International Applicants

A TOEFL score is required for all applicants who have not earned their diploma in an English-based curriculum. Learn more about Score Reporting for Tests of Academic English.

  • Minimum required TOEFL score (internet-based): 79
  • Minimum required IELTS score: 6.0
